Lets go fishing...

Ice Fishing that is, brrrrr.
This is a cake for my Step-Father. He's an outdoorsy kind of guy who loves hunting & fishing. Since his Birthday is in December and he's an avid Ice Fisherman, I thought an ice fishing cake would be perfect for his birthday. I made a chocolate/vanilla marble cake, which is what gave the roof of the shack & log their distinct design. The weeds on the bank of the cake are real & are from my yard.  I did have some help with this cake, which I am very thankful for. My wonderful boyfriend assisted me with the shack and part of the fondant man, with out his artistic eye it wouldn't have turned out so nicely.  I hope you enjoy.

Star Birthday Cake

I made this cake for my friend, Heather's birthday. I decided to make a mini cake because it was a small get-together and I have to say I enjoyed it very much.  Smaller cakes are so much more fun to work with. I am definitely going to have to make a lot more mini cakes.  This one was a blast and I can't wait to make more. It's one of my favorites!!
